Save the World With Your Refrigerator

Even Al Gore is vegan now. After several years as a highly (read hugely) payed speaker against Global Warming, he finally digested his own words; the number one industry causing global warming is animal agriculture, he couldn't, in good conscience continue supporting the meat industry.

Vegan Rainforest Statistics

Think about it: 45% of the earth’s total land, or one third of ice-free land is devoted to raising or feeding cows. Almost half of the earth!

Here's the good news: that makes saving the world easy enough to do it at home.

By eating a vegan diet, I mean a chow-down kind of amazing vegan diet that we serve at Olive Retreat, every day you save:

  • 1,100 gallons of water
  • 45 pounds of grain
  • 30 square feet of forested land
  • 20 lbs CO2 equivalent
  • At least one animal’s life

Considering that 82% of the starving children in the world live where food is grown only for animals, then sent to the west to feed us, you'll probably save a few human lives, too.

And if that isn't enough, by eating vegan, you consume 50% less carbon dioxide, use 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-eater.

Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.

This big, giant earth can be saved after all, if we only do one tiny thing… stop eating cows. Who knew saving the world could be so easy.
