How many times haven’t you made or heard someone make a new years resolution but then see it fail, just like the year before?
The problem is not the resolution itself. Its the attitude towards progress in that resolution.
For example, take the common self promise of better health. People buy gym cards, yogamats, training gear, and time with personal trainers. Being very excited the first few weeks, all feels great, and works like a charm, except for a little longed for and deserved muscle soreness.
Then life happens.
You fall off your new routine, drop out more than one session, and start viewing yourself as a failure, comfortably falling back into the same routine as last year, with everyone around you kindly accepting your old patterns. This is the point where your kindness to yourself will determine weather you continue and succeed, or not. Follow these 3 simple steps to get back on track without stress.
1. Accept yourself. Always.
2. Allow yourself to take 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. Or 3 steps back in some cases.
All Good.
But…
3. Maintain your intention of the resolution.
"The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.”
Have a very blessed 2016 everyone!
Imagine you were unable to perceive the apparently discrete boundaries between forms. No beginnings or endings. No man-woman-child-dog-stone-flower-butterfly-sea-color-texture-tree. There were no beginnings or endings, no borders or skins, as there are no drops but only oceans. Just an infinite intricately woven web of being, all connected and affected.
Many have made this claim through the years…
